Oral history interview with Sid Ford, 1985 September 18.

Interview with Sid Ford concerning his experiences as a rancher-farmer in Denton, Texas. The first 22 pages of the volume is a typescript of Sid Ford's written account of his life titled, "The Times of My Life." Page 22 begins the actual transcript of the oral history interview with Sid Ford, along with Ford's grandson, Scott Ford. Ford discusses his family background, farming near Blue Mound, Texas, his experiences during the Depression in Denton County, his work as a cattle and sheep raiser, his experiences buying, selling, and transporting cattle, Denton area ranchers, Bang's disease in cattle, and contracting out the grain farming business. He also talks about his experiences in the hog raising business in the 1960s, his real estate activities in Denton, his activities with the Denton Livestock Association and the North Texas Wool Association, his experiences as inspector and collector of loans for Denton County Bank, and his employment with the Production Credit Association.
